How to Get to Paris on Points: Award Flights and Hotels Guide 2026

Paris on points — flying business class with United, AA, or Flying Blue, and booking the Park Hyatt Paris or Marriott Paris Opera for your stay.

By The Points Editor

Paris is consistently one of the most requested award destinations in the world — and one of the most achievable. US carriers, European carriers, and all the major transferable currencies offer paths to Paris. Here’s how to plan the perfect Parisian award trip.

Getting to Paris: Best Award Flights

Option 1: United MileagePlus → Star Alliance Business Class

United prices Star Alliance business class to Europe at 57,500 miles one-way (Saver awards). For Paris specifically, you can fly:

  • Air France (CDG) on SkyTeam — not Star Alliance, but United has partnerships
  • Lufthansa or Swiss via Frankfurt/Zurich with connection to CDG
  • LOT Polish Airlines with a connection at WAW
  • Austrian Airlines via Vienna

Transfer Chase UR → United at 1:1 for this path.

Option 2: American AAdvantage → Oneworld Partners

British Airways operates direct flights from JFK, LAX, and other US cities to LHR, with connections to CDG and ORY. British Airways business class (Club World) is available via AAdvantage at approximately 57,500 miles one-way.

Alternatively, Iberia operates Madrid–Paris with connections from the US, and Oneworld alliance pricing can deliver good value.

Note: British Airways imposes fuel surcharges on BA-operated flights even when booked with partner miles. To minimize surcharges, book a Oneworld partner that doesn’t fly via London.

Option 3: Flying Blue Promo Awards

Air France–KLM Flying Blue runs monthly Promo Awards that can bring Paris business class down to 40,000–55,000 Flying Blue miles one-way. Transfer from Chase, Amex, Citi, or Capital One.

Monitor flyingblue.com or sign up for Flying Blue deal newsletters to catch these flash sales when they include US–Paris routes.

Option 4: For Indian Travelers — Air France Via CDG

Air India flies Delhi–Paris CDG with connections available for Indian travelers. United MileagePlus can book Air India flights as Star Alliance partners. Alternatively, Flying Blue covers Air France’s Delhi–Paris route directly.

Best Hotels in Paris on Points

The Park Hyatt Paris–Vendôme (Category 7, 30,000 pts/night)

One of the most romantic hotels in the world, the Park Hyatt Paris–Vendôme sits at 5 Rue de la Paix in the 1st arrondissement — steps from the Ritz, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels. Rooms are quietly luxurious in a European understatement style. Cash rates: €700–€1,500/night.

At 30,000 Hyatt points per night (transfer Chase UR → Hyatt), you’re getting 2.3–5¢ per point depending on dates.

Grand Hyatt Paris (Cat 5, 25,000 pts/night)

The Grand Hyatt Paris, steps from the Opéra Garnier, delivers excellent Paris luxury at 25,000 points per night. Cash rates €400–€700/night.

Le Méridien Etoile or Marriott Champs-Élysées (Bonvoy)

Marriott Bonvoy has dozens of properties in Paris at various category levels. The W Paris – Opéra and Marriott Paris Opera are both good options at 40,000–60,000 Bonvoy points per night during peak season.

Hotel Indigo Paris – Opéra (IHG One Rewards)

IHG has good value properties in Paris including the Hotel Indigo and Crowne Plaza brands. IHG Rewards can be earned via Capital One transfers (1:2) or the Chase IHG co-branded card.

Practical Tips for Paris Award Travel

Book early: Paris is consistently one of the most award-space-constrained destinations to Europe. For summer travel (June–August), search and book business class awards in the fall of the prior year.

Consider shoulder seasons: April–May and September–October offer excellent weather (better than peak summer in many ways), easier award availability, and lower Hyatt/Marriott point costs at premium properties.

From the US, target CDG: Paris Orly (ORY) is the secondary airport, closer to southern Paris but with fewer direct connections from the US.

Eurostar from London: If you’re flying business class to London (often cheaper in points), you can take the Eurostar train to Paris Gare du Nord in 2.5 hours. Book Eurostar separately; it doesn’t cost points but is very affordable.
