Our Mission

AwardWave exists for one reason: to help everyday travelers unlock the true power of their points and miles. Most people earn rewards for years and never redeem them optimally — or at all. We fix that.

This is not a generic travel blog. We don't cover hotel reviews, packing lists, or which destination is "trending." We cover one thing deeply: how to use credit card points and airline miles to travel for free or at steep discounts — and we cover it better than anyone else.

Who We Write For

Our guides are built for two audiences:

  • US travelers who have accumulated Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points, Capital One Miles, Delta SkyMiles, United MileagePlus, or American AAdvantage miles and want to know how to spend them wisely.
  • Indian travelers who hold HDFC SmartBuy points, Axis Edge Rewards, Amex India Membership Rewards, or InterMiles and want to use them for international travel — particularly on Air India, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, and Qatar Airways.

Both audiences face the same core challenge: a labyrinthine system of transfer partners, award charts, fuel surcharges, and blackout dates designed to make redemption feel complicated. We cut through it.

Our Editorial Standards

Every figure we publish — point valuations, transfer ratios, award costs, program rules — is independently verified against the program's official website and cross-referenced against reputable sources before publication. We update guides when programs change their rules. We never publish outdated award rates.

We also disclose clearly when we earn commissions from affiliate links. Our recommendations are never influenced by who pays us — if a redemption strategy is better, we'll say so even if the affiliate commission is lower.
