Citi ThankYou Points: Best Transfer Partners and Redemptions in 2026

Complete Citi ThankYou Points transfer guide — Turkish Airlines, Air France Flying Blue, Avianca LifeMiles, and which transfers deliver the best CPP for US travelers.

By The Points Editor

Citi ThankYou Points are the third pillar of US transferable points (after Chase UR and Amex MR), with a partner list that partially overlaps — but also includes some unique options that justify maintaining a Citi card alongside your Chase or Amex setup.

Citi ThankYou Transfer Partners (2026)

Citi transfers ThankYou Points to the following airline partners, most at 1:1:

Airlines:

  • Air France–KLM Flying Blue (1:1)
  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles (1:1)
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer (1:1)
  • Avianca LifeMiles (1:1)
  • Cathay Pacific Asia Miles (1:1)
  • Emirates Skywards (1:1)
  • Etihad Guest (1:1)
  • Air India Flying Returns (1:1)
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer (1:1)
  • EVA Air Infinity MileageLands (1:1)
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club (1:1)
  • American Airlines AAdvantage (1:1)
  • JetBlue TrueBlue (1:1)
  • Thai Royal Orchid Plus (1:1)

Citi’s airline roster is broad and notably includes American AAdvantage — which Chase and Amex do not offer directly. This makes Citi the best transfer path to AAdvantage for travelers who want to book JAL First Class or Qantas Business.

Hotels (limited): Citi no longer has strong hotel transfer partners; focus on airline transfers.

Best Citi ThankYou Transfers

Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles

As covered in our dedicated Turkish guide, the fixed Star Alliance award chart makes Turkish the best Citi transfer for budget-conscious business class awards. 45,000 Miles&Smiles for Lufthansa transatlantic business vs. 70,000+ on other programs.

Flying Blue Promo Awards

Citi TYP → Flying Blue (1:1) is the most time-sensitive transfer opportunity. When Flying Blue drops monthly Promo Awards, immediate transfer and booking is often necessary. The 1:1 transfer from Citi is among the fastest (2–3 days).

American AAdvantage: The Exclusive Citi Path

Citi’s unique position: AAdvantage is not a direct transfer partner for Chase or Amex. If you want to top up an AAdvantage account from a major bank, Citi is your primary path.

This makes Citi especially valuable for travelers targeting JAL First Class (The Suite of Japan Airlines) or Qantas Business via AAdvantage miles — the Citi Premier becomes the fastest accumulation vehicle for those specific goals.

Singapore KrisFlyer

Citi transfers to KrisFlyer at 1:1 — same as Chase and Amex. No differentiation here, but useful if you’re accumulating across multiple programs.

Top Citi ThankYou Cards

Citi Premier℠ Card ($95/year): 3x on restaurants, supermarkets, gas, air travel, and hotels. The strongest everyday earn rate among mid-tier travel cards. No foreign transaction fee.

Citi Strata Premier (if launched — check current offerings): Updated card with similar transfer access.

Citi vs. Chase vs. Amex: When Citi Wins

Citi ThankYou beats Chase and Amex when:

  1. You want AAdvantage miles from a bank transfer (Citi’s exclusive)
  2. You’re building toward Turkish Miles&Smiles for Star Alliance fixed pricing
  3. Your primary programs are Flying Blue or KrisFlyer and you want a third earn channel
  4. You want a strong dining/supermarket card at a $95 annual fee (Premier beats Chase Preferred on dining categories)

Citi loses to Chase in: partner breadth (no Hyatt), sign-up bonus frequency, and the overall transferable partner ecosystem quality for hotel redemptions.
